It appears Lindsay Lohan isn’t the only starlet in talks to play Elizabeth Taylor.

Although the Mean Girls star confirmed she is still up for the role in the buzz-worthy biopic to E! News Sunday night at the Weinstein Company Golden Globes after party, we’ve learned Lohan has some competition by way of Megan Fox.

“I’ve been talking to Lindsay Lohan directly, and with her reps, and have been in conversations with other actresses, including Megan Fox,” Larry Thompson, the executive producer of Lifetime’s Liz and Dick, told E! News exclusively.

Thompson declined to elaborate further on specifics of the negotiations, but added that being in talks with more than one actress is not meant as an affront to the talent involved, but rather is simply de rigueur for projects of this nature.

“It’s a very serious selection,” Thompson continued. “It’s like casting for Hollywood royalty.”

And speaking of serious, a source tells E! News that while Lohan is still one of the frontrunners for the role, her probation status is “a complication.”

Lohan, who is on probation until the end of March, is due back in court Tuesday morning to face the judge in a probation status update hearing.

So, when will we know which star nabbed the role?

Rather soon, since the filmmaker plans to start shooting the movie in Canada as soon as this spring.

Megan Fox says she’s been trying to put on a little weight. The actress was spotted in brown leather shorts and a black tank top on the set of  This is Forty looking beautifully curvy.

“People thought, ‘Oh she must be anorexic,’ but she’s far from that,” her trainer Harley Pasternak said. “Believe it or not she has this really fast metabolism, so her training is all about body toning and sculpting. With her it’s really about whether she’s eating enough of the right things.”

What’s more, he said she “gets frustrated at times” because she needs to put on weight.

Megan recently told the Italian magazine Amica that she put on weight after she gave up her strict vegan diet.

“For a year and a half, until about four months ago, I followed a strict vegan diet based on raw fruits and vegetables, no bread, sugar and coffee,” she said. “But I had lost too much weight. So now I eat a bit of everything. I train three times a week doing circuit training with my trainer Harvey Pasternak.”

She also confessed to Fox News she didn’t have the healthiest diet.

“I just stopped eating,” Fox said. “I don’t eat very healthy anyway — I have a serious sugar tooth, so now I eat red-velvet cake before I go to bed every night, and if you eat meals later, you’ll put on weight faster, so I had dinner at 10 p.m.”

Apparently the much-anticipated spin off of Knocked Up, This Is Forty, has added another cast member. Megan Fox posted a picture of herself on the set, in a swimming pool, with co-stars Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids) and Jason Segel. Knocked Up fans will remember that Jason Segel played one of the friends of Seth Rogen’s character in Knocked Up. He joins stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, who reprising their roles as married couple Pete and Debbie in the Judd Apatow comedy, which Rudd recently said is a “companion piece” to Knocked Up and not a sequel.

Segel will also be starring alongside returning cast member Charlene Yi as well as Albert Brooks, Megan Fox, Chris O’Dowd, Lena Dunham, Melissa McCarthy, Ryan Lee, and Wyatt Russell.

This Is Forty is set to open in December 2012.

Here’s a recently released scene still from Megan Fox’s next movie,  Jennifer Westfeldt‘s “Friends With Kids.”   The star-studded indie film also stars Adam Scott, Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd and Edward Burns.

The TIFF site gives the following synopsis: “When a few members of a close group of married and single friends start to have children, it has a big impact on everyone.”

Judd Apatow’s latest movie is a spin-off from the hilarious mega-hit, Knocked Up. This new movie stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as the leads, and will boast a lot of famous faces as the supporting cast – including our girl, Megan Fox.

Here’s what beautiful Leslie Mann had to say about Megan:
“Megan Fox is so funny. She’s hilarious. You wouldn’t, I don’t know if other people [expect it], but I think she’s really funny, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

I can’t wait for this movie – I’m anxious to see Megan on the big screen again and, as a Knocked Up fan, this movie couldn’t come soon enough!

Here’s another reviewer of the new Transformers movie who notices the glaring absence of Megan:

(The reviewer’s talking about the movie’s weaknesses): However, the whole thing began as a story about a boy who wants a car that’ll impress the hottest girl in school. Fox, as the anti-establishment daughter of a convicted felon and who isn’t at all intimated by policemen, soldiers, Men in Black or alien invaders, is a hell of a lot more interesting than Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who couldn’t be any duller if she tried. If there’s a single fatal element in the film, it’s not the accented, wisecracking robots — I can buy, knowing they’re pretty much trapped on our world, that some might adopt human vernacular — it’s that Sam Witwicky could ever date someone so bland after the fiery Fox.

Like this summer’s other power sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Dark of the Moon is a perfectly acceptable summer popcorn movie and won’t be fatal to its franchise. But if Bay expects to wring one more out, he either needs to bend over (and not necessarily backwards) to get Fox back, or get LaBeouf another girlfriend with some nuts and bolts.  – From Free-Times

More controversy and publicity surrounding Megan Fox and Transformers. Hmmm, so soon before the new movie comes out. How ironic, right?

They’re STILL using Megan Fox to generate publicity!

“She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven [Spielberg] said, ‘Fire her right now,’” Bay said in a recent interview.

The “Hitler thing” refers to comments Megan Fox made in British magazine Wonderland, saying Bay liked to run his set in the style of the dictator.

“I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in kind of the wrong way.”

“I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work 12 hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time,” Bay told GQ, which profiled him and many of his longtime collaborators, including current star Shia LaBeouf.

“Criticism is one thing,” LaBeouf said of Fox. “Then there’s public name-calling, which turns into high school bashing. Which you can’t do. She started [crap] -talking our captain.”

Wow. I thought Shia was supposed to be a friend of Megan’s. Friends don’t talk [crap] about friends, though, so I’m guessing he’s not much of one.

Megan Fox is at the top of the Facebook charts, just ahead of action star Vin Diesel.

Social media plays a more important role in ‘measuring fame’ according to Forbes than ever before. I couldn’t agree more – and I think it’s pretty obvious that Megan has a HUGE fan following.

Other celebrities don’t even come close to Megan Fox and Vin Diesel, who both have over 25 million fans on Facebook alone!

Shia LaBeouf recently had this to say about Megan Fox, Michael Bay, and the new girl.

“Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with Michael, who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women,” LaBeouf said. “Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It’s summer. It’s Michael’s style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it. When Mike would ask her to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We’re on the run. And the one thing Mike lacks is tact. There’s no time for [LaBeouf assumes a gentle voice] ‘I would like you to just arch your back 70 degrees.’”
